  • IT'S A GREAT EXPERIENCE IN DOWNTOWN NORTHVILLE!

  • Artwalk / Shopping / Dining
  •

The First Friday of each month downtown Northville celebrates the arts with their long running First Friday Experience.  You’ll find something new each month as many of the town’s galleries and boutiques stay open late with special guests, trunk shows, music and their newest merchandise.

Starring “The Gallery” hosts an artist reception each month.  Some of our artists have exhibited with us in the past and others will be exhibiting with us for the first time – each showcasing their newest pieces in their own unique style. Each artist will be available to answer questions and their artwork will be on display and available for purchase throughout the remainder of the month.

Artists, hors d'oeuvres, shopping, music and good friends - Experience it all at Starring “The Gallery” during the First Friday Experience.

Artist Reception: 6:00pm - 9:00pm

Artist Bio: Lifetime resident of Michigan, Shelly Goehmann is new to the local artist community.Prior to this showing at Starring “The Gallery,” her art was her own personal passion.

Shelly is entirely self-taught and has always experimented with a wide variety of mediums since her artistic journey began, but has found that her real passion is in creating abstract art by experimenting with acrylics. The unpredictable nature of this art form captivates her, she says, and pulls her into a sort of meditative state. The mystery of not knowing what will happen next has the power to hold her attention for long stretches of time.

Shelly is delighted to be able to share her work with others.“Abstract art,” she says,“ is not unlike cloud-gazing - each person may see something different; from the whimsical to a wordless emotion. And, sometimes, if you’re really lucky, it feeds the soul.”
